Product Description

The Art of Problem Solving, Volume 2: and Beyond, is the best-selling textbook used by thousands of successful high school math teams, students and coaches both as preparatory material for competitive events as well as a comprehensive enrichment program in Mathematics. Several students have used this as a building block for performance in the American Mathematics Contest series to qualify for the Math Olympiad Summer Program that trains students for the United States International Math Olympiad team.

This book is appropriate for students who have mastered the problem solving fundamentals presented in its predecessor, The Art of Problem Solving, Volume 1.

This text contains a definitive collection of over several hundred exercises culled from contests such as the Mandelbrot Competition, the AMC tests, and ARML, and a rich assortment of derivative problem sets designed to reinforce a battery of problem solving techniques.

The instructional material is designed to:
  • Encourage student enquiry and exploration through problems
  • Efficiently use theoretical narrative to reinforce concepts
  • Emphasize powerful problem solving techniques and pattern recognition
  • Provide a large repository of problems arranged by complexity

The solutions manual, sold with this bundle, contains complete solutions to all the problems.
